Welcome to the South China Athletic Association (SCAA) Tennis Centre—a premier tennis facility in the heart of Causeway Bay, Hong Kong. For over a century, SCAA has been synonymous with sporting excellence.
Today, we stand as the spiritual home of the local tennis community, offering world-class courts, professional coaching, and the iconic SCAA Tennis Open.
Our Story
Our tennis journey began in 1929 at King’s Park, where SCAA built its first dedicated Tennis Pavilion. This marked the Association’s official commitment to the sport and laid the foundation for a thriving local tennis community.
In 1970, the Centre launched its flagship event: the SCAA Open Tennis Championships. This tournament quickly became a cornerstone of Hong Kong’s competitive circuit, giving local players a platform to test their skills and earn national rankings. Decades later, the SCAA Tennis Open remains a celebrated tradition.
At the turn of the millennium, SCAA undertook a major redevelopment of the King’s Park Tennis Centre. Completed in 2002, the project delivered 6 high-quality outdoor courts, modern changing rooms, a snack bar, and dedicated parking. This upgrade established the Centre as a premier destination for tennis in Hong Kong.
Today, SCAA tennis facilities are centered on Caroline Hill Road in Causeway Bay, part of the larger SCAA Sports Complex. The venue now includes covered courts, a covered sand court, and year-round programs for players of all levels.
Since 1929, the SCAA Tennis Centre has lived by the Association’s founding motto: "A Sound Mind in a Sound Body." We're proud to remain a home for Hong Kong tennis—past, present, and future.
